Phenomenon
Discoloration of the topcoat on the area repaired with polyester putty.
Cause
A. Polyester putty are not soluble in topcoat solvent and it makes boundary with the topcoat film.
B. Putty is more contractive than other paint film.
Repair
Remove the damaged part or sand to putty layer and cover with urethane primer-surfacer(PS-330, PS-550) and refinish.
Prevention
A. Do not apply lacquer putty too thick.
B. Do not apply polyester putty on the lacquer type paint film.
C. Apply primer-surfacer on putty before applying topcoat.
